Shirley Ann Hoover

Sympathy is extended to the family of Shirley Ann Hoover who went to heaven on September 1, 2024 at Desert Hot Springs, California and was formally of Stuarts Draft, Virginia.

Shirley was born September 5, 1942 to Walter and Julia Smith in Augusta County, Virginia. As a young woman she met and married Roger Ribbe. Together they had two daughters. Once Shirley retired she remained active in church, with volunteer work, and enjoying time with friends and her pets. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Julia (William) Fitzgerald, Jennifer (Tim) May, two grandsons, Brent and Blake Fitzgerald and great-grandson Kamdyn Fitzgerald. 

Mom spent her entire life in Virginia. She was so excited to take her first flight across the United States and to spend time the past year making more friends, engaging in life and experiencing new things.

Shirley was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church in Greenville, Virginia. She was an Elder, she sang in the church choir and was a Moderator of the Pines Chapel Women for many years. Shirley was a joyful person who was generous with her time and she leaves behind many friends and acquaintances. She had a very sweet heart and she shared her love of life with everyone. Their is a joyous celebration in the Lord’s house for one who has gone home.
